How to Draw a Woodpecker
In this lesson, we will use the step-by-step method to draw a realistic-looking Woodpecker with ease.
Draw a circle for the head and one for the bird's body. These circles of different sizes to help you in next step of drawing a woodpecker.
Start sketching out the basic form of the woodpeckers body. After that draw two short horisontal lines for the beak and bird's claws.
Using the outline from the previous step, this stage will help you sketch the bird more precisely.
Continue to sketch out the woodpeckers body and head in detail. Also, you need to sketch the bird's feet. If your bird happens to be sitting on a tree branch, you can right away outline it.
Erase extra pencil lines from your drawing and then proceed to do a more detailed work.
If you chose to draw a woodpecker with pencil, creating shadows will go smoothly if you use soft #2 pencil.
As a final step, you just need to color the woodpecker. Use colored pencils or crayons. Look, it's as if the woodpecker came to life!
