Toucan is not a large bird. An average-sized full-grown toucan weighs about 130 grams, reaching maximum height of 30 cm. It is about 20 in from the tip of a toucan's beak to its tail.
The largest of all toucans is Toco toucan with a body weight of about 700 grams and a length of about 75 cm.
A toucan's beak weighs less than you think simply because it consists of air chambers and keratin.
These birds use their large beak for thermoregulation, nutrition, and as a protection from predators.
