How to Draw a Scorpion
Some people are fascinated with such dangerous insect as the scorpion or the Spider. Others simply like to draw scorpions and similar insects. A scorpion may resemble a crayfish but its tail is very unique. There is a poisonous sting at the end of a scorpion's tail. Also, scorpions also have a shell and pincers. Let's draw a scorpion in pencil, step by step.
First draw a long curved line for the body of your scorpion. Then draw another one for the pincers. Add a small oval at the intersection of the two lines and mark the end of the scorpion's body with a curved line.
Next let's draw contour lines for the body and pincers. It should be easy to do because you've already drawn the initial contour of your scorpion - just outline it.
Now you can draw the outlines of the pincers. Just prolong the lines that you already drew. Keep in mind that the pincers must be small and narrow. They serve as a tool for grabbing the scorpion's prey (the main weapon is still the scorpion's tail). Outline the feet of your scorpion (4 feet on both sides).
Finish drawing the scorpion's feet and start to draw the shell in detail. Divide the tail of your scorpion into several segments (see my example) and draw a line separating the head from the body.
Erase the extra lines around the tail, which is divided into several segments. As a final step, draw parallel lines at the bottom of the scorpion's body. After doing that, just draw the pincers in detail and check your drawing once more, correcting the lines where you see fit.
Scorpions come in different colors. If you want to make your drawing appear realistic, just find a photo of a scorpion on the Internet and color in your drawing referring to the photo. If you want to shade your drawing using #2 pencil, do so by relying on my example. Draw sand under your scorpion's feet as scorpions are native to deserts.
