How to Draw Patrick Star

How to draw Patrick Star tutorial

Patrick is a character from a famous cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants. Patrick and SpongeBob are good friends and neighbors. Patrick is so clumsy that it is funny. In essence, he is a starfish living on the bottom of the Ocean. Small shorts on his awkward body type make him look even more silly and light-hearted. This cartoon character has no nose or ears, which eases the drawing process a little.

Step 1

Patrick is a walking starfish. Begin by drawing a skeleton of Patrick's body. To do that, first draw a large oval in the center of your sheet of paper. Because Patrick has arms and legs, add long triangles to it - one big one on top, two on the sides, and two on the bottom of the oval.

Step 2

Patrick's arms resemble flippers. Erase all extra lines at this step. Draw a cool hat on top of the upper triangle. Also round all sharp angles. Patrick's arms look somewhat like flippers.

Step 3

Patrick's shorts. Draw shorts over the two bottom triangles up to his belly button, which you are drawn using two short arched lines. Next sketch the character's simple facial features: two lines for the mouth, one line for the eyes, and another one for the eyebrows.

Step 4

Patrick's face - final step. Add a part of slanted lines on the side of Patrick's face for the eyebrows. Draw two ovals for eyes on the middle line and add black pupils inside. The two arched lines below make a mouth. Adding a sticking out tongue will only amplify Patrick's playful nature. Add a simplistic flower pattern to Patrick's shorts.
