How to Draw Maple Leaves
The tree's leaf is a frequent object of drawings. After all, what kind of tree without leaves? In this lesson we will learn how to draw maple leaves step by step, using # 2 pencil. Drawing the maple leaves is more difficult than it seems, therefore it is better to draw step by step, as shown below.
To begin, we need to create the framework for the maple leaf. Make the six intersecting lines. At first draw a horizontal line.
Make numerous smaller "branches" from basic lines. You can draw any number of these smaller lines. The irregularity of hand drawn "branches" actually look more natural in the end of drawing the maple leaves.
Following our preliminary framework, draw the external contour of the maple leaf. Draw imperfect contour line, in nature the shape of maple leaves is rarely smooth.
I think this step of drawing is very simple and you can draw the bottom part of the leaf without my comments.
Drawing a maple leaf is almost completed. You need only add a few small parts and more clearly draw with pencil the outline.
Now you can add shadows to the maple leaf where the light does not hit the flower directly. Darken the leaf in some places to make them look more realistic.
